"It has been identified in a documentary carried out by Al Jazeera that the Zimbabwean President Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa, appointed Eubert Angel ( self proclaimed 'businessman' and Prophet who preaches the gospel) as Zimbabwe Ambassador for Europe and America. It has surfaced in the documentary, where there were undercover journalists who purportedly to be from China and wanted gold. The President of Mines; Henrietta Rushwaya ( Emmerson Mnangagwa's niece) and Eubert Angel have been involved in money laundering and smuggling gold out of Zimbabwe to Dubia. There's other nationalities involved in this cartel. As Zimbabweans we strongly believe that all assests in the United Kingdom that belong to Eubert Angel should be frozen, as there's is evidence that they were acquired illegally."
"The people of Zimbabwe are suffering as a result of these acts and they are faced with hardship and live in poverty. Zimbabwe has it's economy collapsed yet it's got enough resources to sustain the nation and create jobs for the masses. The health care lacks equipment, medication and the people to provide care - as health professionals have fled the country in search of better salaries elsewhere in the diaspora. The education system is poor as there are no facilities in schools for children to learn. There are no classrooms, children learn outside under trees sitting on rocks, there's no school furniture, books and all other resources for the teachers to be able to provide the best education for the children of Zimbabwe. The infrastructure is poor and there is no proper sanitation and because of that it has left people falling ill because of waste not being managed adequately."
"The roads are in a terrible condition and lives are lost due to the poor state of the highways as they lack proper servicing and maintenance. There is no clean water and the people are relaying on boreholes that were donated to the community by other Zimbabweans in the diaspora after having heard of the plight faced by fellow Zimbabweans. There's been lives lost due to deaths caused by fire as there is no electricity and people use firewood, gas and candles, paraffin lamps to illuminate in the dark in their homes. All these problems are caused by the government who is involved in gold mafia and money laundering resulting in the country's economy collapsing."
"It is now time for all Zimbabwean all over the world and those who sympathise with us to bring this to an end and we take action by signing a petition that Eubert Angel has to be arrested for the crimes he's committed. The billions that are laundered and gold smuggled can help build back the economy of Zimbabwe."

Background: It mainly started in 2021, however endemic corruption and ruthless exploitation of the wealth of the natural resources of Zimbabwe has been going on for DECADES! Probably back to the {So Called} Independence on 18th April 1980 - which is the thematic objective of https://take2zimbabwe.com - questioning the validity of the Independence in 1980!
However in 2021, the new President {after a military coup to replace Mugabe in 2017 and a rigged election in 2018 and European Union Assessment of the 2018 Elections}, was slated to visit the United Kingdom {under the auspices of the United Nations} for the Climate conference COP26 - Oct-Nov 2021. As ZHRO, ZAPU, ROHR and the then MDC(A) {now re-branded as CCC} we took our demonstration, firstly to the door of 10 Downing Street with a petition to {Boris Johnson} and also to the COP26 conference itself in Glasgow on the 1st and 2nd November 2021.
Even then we {ZHRO and VUKA} had created the banner stating "ZANU PF MUST GO" and ROHR had created "The Face Behind- Corruption etc" We all knew that Zimbabwe was being {and had been} plundered for her natural resources - for the exclusive benefit to the Zanu PF "elite" - including the arch criminal President Mnangagwa himself READ OUR OCTOBER 2021 PETITION HERE - we did not want Mnangagwa to enter the United Kingdom under any circumstances.
We had reminded the UK Government, that Mnangagwa was head of security under the 1983-87 Gukhurundi genocide {petition in July 2018 for that issue} and as the "Chief Strategist" as named by the Untied Nations in their 2002 report regarding the wholesale looting of diamonds from the DR Congo! It's not as if this was all news to the British Government.

Lovingly entitled, "Zanu PF Fool's Day"; the 1st April 2023 at the Zimbabwe Embassy was the initiation of the campaign to expose the criminality at the heart of the Zanu PF regime. The Zanu PF regime has held Zimbabwe, as a nation "hostage" for far too long - 43 years this April 18th in fact. [Full image log on ZHRO Flickr CLICK HERE ]
Those brave few present, coming from as far away as Manchester, Coventry, Northampton, Gosport and Littlehampton, were there to "represent" all Zimbabweans who have been utterly disenfranchised by the Zanu PF regime back in Zimbabwe. That's not to say that many more within the UK diaspora should have been present - and the 18th April 2023 Demonstration {at the Embassy} and Petition {to 10 Downing Street, home of British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak} will prove the depth for feeling personified by #GoldMafia and other criminality by the regime.
The numbers attending will always be a big factor when presenting a proposal and petition to the British - they are very much 'swayed' by the numbers - as they perceive "Voter Recognition" of an event or situation, that must be acted upon. The same is very true for pushing for democratic and humanitarian action to be promoted by the British within their sphere of influence, at both the UK Embassy in Harare AND on the International Stage. Here in the United Kingdom the Zimbabwean Diaspora has huge potential to assist those trapped by the regime in Zimbabwe. It is up to the diaspora to stand up and be counter {as the expression goes} and in this case literally too!
In November 2017 - the 18th November in fact: CLICK HERE to remember that day, the Hopes and Dreams for a Democratic Zimbabwe were Born - but now those dreams are left in tatters, as the nightmare began on that day inside the regimes psychotic imagination. Fast forward to March 2023 and the pre-launch of the Gold Mafia {at that time without a title - but certainly about corruption} many were apprehensive, most about an expose, but within the regime -'concern'.

Pure propaganderised insanity prevails in the "State Controlled" Herald newsp {scrub that - "rag"}; yes 'State Sponsored Rag'
Enacy Mapakame, Business Reporter (??)
Finance and Economic Development Minister Professor Mthuli Ncube is next month expected to headline the Zimbabwe Capital Markets conference in London, United Kingdom, which seeks to showcase the opportunities and broaden the country’s capital markets.
Mthuli Ncube "Headlining" is very much unlikely with the state of the Zimbabwean Economy - maybe he will be used as "An example"!!
The conference will be hosted by Financial Markets Indaba (FMI) in conjunction with the Zimbabwe Embassy in the United Kingdom on April 20 at the London Stock Exchange and April 21 at Queen Elizabeth 11 Conference Centre. Among the key topics that will be discussed is strengthening local capital markets; from diversifying currencies to facilitating foreign investments and transitioning to an emerging market economy as well as case studies on how companies benefited from listing.
Just who are FMI above - one look at their website shows their markets - 'Diaspora Mortgages'? Just how much has the Embassy Paid to Claim these events at the London Stock Exchange and at the Conference Centre??
“The aim of the Zimbabwe Capital Markets Conference is to highlight and recognise the important role played by capital markets in economic development and preservation and growth of households’ savings, as well as to focus on opportunities available in different sectors outlining the opportunities for the diaspora, international investors, companies/firms to allocate capital in different asset classes.
Solid 'waffle'! What on earth is this reporter saying - "opportunities" in Zimbabwe??
“The conference serves as an opportunity to inform the diaspora and demystify complexities and myths that surround participating in financial and capital markets and in turn encourages individuals from all walks of life to invest in the local markets including stock exchanges,” said FMI managing director Mr Patrick Muzondo.
Capital markets in Africa are composed mainly of stock exchanges and bond markets. Securities markets are non-negligible complements to bank financing on the continent, with bond issuances mostly done by governments and only fewer big corporations listed on the domestic stock exchanges. Nevertheless, capital markets play an important role in complementing bank financing on the continent.
For the many African countries seeking to attract much more investment, the issue of strengthening capital markets is critically important. “Stock markets, therefore, are able to positively influence economic growth through encouraging savings amongst individuals and providing avenues for firm financing,” said Mr Muzondo. The number of stock exchanges on the continent has grown from five in 1989 to 28 today, with stock markets growing continuously in the number of shares listed and the traded volume.
In Zimbabwe, the main bourse, the Zimbabwe Stock Exchange (ZSE) is the backbone of the country’s capital markets with a history dating back as far as 1896 It is one of the oldest and highly diversified exchanges in Africa given listings spanning all key sectors of the economy. The sector continues to grow and evolve although there is consensus amongst capital markets players that the sector currently has an untapped potential contribution to economic growth.
The recent establishment of the Victoria Falls Stock Exchange (VFEX) is one of the many initiatives the Government is pursuing to stabilise the economy and attract foreign direct investments. The VFEX is a financial offshore centre that trades in foreign currency and is earmarked for the special economic zone in Victoria Falls. There is growing activity on the VFEX with a number of companies showing interest to list on the foreign currency-denominated bourse to seek to take advantage of offshore settlement options which allow investors to efficiently repatriate their dividends.
It is expected the VFEX will emerge as a competitive global platform to raise capital, and this will transform the country’s tourism capital into an attractive Offshore Financial Services Centre. Financial Markets Indaba (FMI) is a series of interactive investment-related forums and conferences convened in Johannesburg, London, Harare and virtually.
FMI is based in Johannesburg with a presence in Harare and London, and has hosted more than 50 investor events in the last seven years as well as webinar events. Its aim is to mobilise investment through convening diaspora, leading global institutional investors, corporate leaders, industry experts and its team of analysts to explore sector and market trends and identify significant investment opportunities.

Source: https://www.cfr.org/blog/zimbabwe-limps-toward-elections
from Africa in Transition, Africa Program, Diamonstein-Spielvogel Project on the Future of Democracy, and Preparing for Leadership Transitions in Africa Zimbabwe Limps Toward Elections:
""In another of the continent’s major elections slated for this year, the state is taking the opposite approach. Rather than raising the hopes of citizens that this summer’s election will be an improvement on the last, Zimbabwe’s authorities seem to be doing their best to dampen would-be voters’ enthusiasm. The repressive political climate is depressingly familiar. The state continues to persecute opposition politicians and voices of dissent, and has taken steps to further curtail freedom of expression and association. Police have even stopped musicians from performing songs that condemn corruption.""
""Against this backdrop, Zimbabwe’s Electoral Commission (ZEC), like all other state institutions, is blatantly politicized and sowing mistrust with its preparations to date. A highly controversial delimitation exercise prompted accusations of foul play at best, and incompetence at worst, from politicians, civil society, and even some members of the ZEC itself.""
""Despite legal requirements to make the voters roll available for review, ZEC has thrown up barriers to transparency at every turn. Thus far, voter registration efforts, a critically important part of any credible exercise for a country in which large new cohorts of citizens reach the age of enfranchisement every year, have inspired more mistrust than confidence. Citizens wishing to register have encountered delays, equipment failures, and power outages.""
""It’s not hard to see why recent polling indicated that less than half of Zimbabwe’s citizens trust the ZEC. As the Crisis in Zimbabwe Coalition put it in an open letter to President Mnangagwa this month,""
“the road to Elections 2023 has started on a very bad note.”
""It will be up to Zimbabwean citizens to initiate any momentum away from the country’s long downward trajectory. {!!} But that’s a tall order for a people struggling to make ends meet, and jaded by politics that are so blatantly engineered to enrich and protect a political and security elite at the expense of everyone else. In recent polling, Afrobarometer found that young Zimbabweans are significantly less likely to participate in the electoral process than older generations, perhaps because their experience tells them that elections are not a meaningful way to get government to respond to their needs. As the United States looks ahead to a calendar full of complex election scenarios in the region, policymakers need a more effective toolkit to combat the insidious influence of this kind of cynical electoral charade, which drags down enthusiasm for democratic governance and ultimately strengthens the hands of all authoritarians, not just those in Zimbabwe.""
""When “democracy” is reduced to fatally flawed elections that deliver no accountability, reliable rule of law or demand-driven governance, just an expensive exercise in imposing the will of the powerful, the standard playbook of enumerating flaws in the process is insufficient. At the upcoming U.S. Summit for Democracy, finding ways to enlist regional partners in combatting this dangerous conflation of elections, however flawed, and actual democratic governance should be at the top of the agenda.""
